Giving blood saves lives

Oreo Alcombe lifesaver

Every day many animals in the UK desperately need blood transfusions. It may be that they’ve been critically injured after an accident, it may be due to haemorrhage after giving birth or undergoing difficult surgeries, or it could be due to medical conditions such as acute anaemia.

For dogs there is now a blood bank and canine donors can give blood to the PetBloodBank UK (supported by our after-hours partners VetsNow) which is then stored for use in the future if required . See Dog’s Tales on their website for inspiring stories of saved lives.

Lovely words from our clients

Alcombe Vets are always informative, sympathetic and able to give advice.

It took no time at all for Rosie’s eye to heal after her op and she’s in full monkey mode, full of wuff and not in pain. Thank you so much for all your help and for doing such a great job.

Every time we visit Alcombe Vets the service is second to none. I would like to thank the vet for her time care and kindness this evening. Also the receptionist who couldn’t have been nicer.

Thank you for doing all you could for Charlie – we appreciate the care and attention you provided for him.
